I was on my way to my sister's birthday dinner in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood when I happened upon the window front of "I Dream of Cakes," a fantastically adorable cake boutique that makes Ace of Cakes look like an amateur.

The store had just closed, but the storefront was filled with decadent (and yet simple) cakes decorated with painful precision. I adore the one with birds and twigs - although I'm not sure what type of occasion it would work best for. The inside of the store features French salon type couches and glasses cases filled with cake designs. I can't wait to go back when their open and ogle everything because I heard they'll make cakes in any shape you want.
